We are proud to share that Level Up Lab Director Dr. Matthew Smith has been awarded the 2024 Distinguished Clinical and Translational Research Mentor Award by the Michigan Institute for Clinical & Health Research (MICHR). Matt was nominated by Kari Sherwood, PhD student, and received letters of support from School of Social Work Dean Beth Angell, Dr. Ashley Lacombe-Duncan, Dr. Lindsay Bornheimer, Dr. Jaclynn Hawkins, and Dr. Ed-Dee Williams.
The award was established in 2012 to recognize faculty who foster the intellectual, creative, scholarly, and professional growth of their students, fellows, and trainees in the areas of clinical and translational health and research. Out of a competitive field of remarkable research leaders, MICHR has selected 7 individuals who meet the highest standard for clinical and translational research mentorship.
